60 Cycle Hum – www.60-cycle-hum.com
60 Cycle Hum is an alternative rock band who sites Collective Soul, Foo Fighters, Pink Floyd and Smashing Pumpkins as some of their musical influences. Hailing from Chattanooga, Tennessee, the four members of 60 Cycle Hum have garnered attention in the Southeast since the release of their first album, AA Heartache, in late 2005. Partially recorded in their home studio, self-produced and funded, the album is an example of the grassroots mentality the band has maintained from inception. They will be taking their expertise as songwriters, musicians, and performers to the next level by releasing their first full length album on the Rail Nine label in 2007.
What others are saying about 60 Cycle Hum:
You might recognize 60 Cycle Hum when you hear their brand of light rock and airy arrangements. This group balances coffee shop with modern pop radio to achieve peakless yet affective songs. Drony pop fueled with nice spacing and stair step vocal arrangements give this record a certain sense of accessibility; the type that is current, modern and the sum of other parts. A deep digital effect on guitars renders nice tones reminiscent of mid 80’s world pop. It is also the type of record that is open to major tonal changes and mystical keyboard work. Environment is well described, just as well described as the lovelorn narrator. You will probably enjoy 60’s new album if you have kept up with the lighter side of mainstream radio over the past ten years.

This is great from the first down beat; love the vocals and good production. Great build and it held my attention. Love it, keep up the good work!

60 Cycle Hum's first release AA Heartache proves to be one of the smoother albums I've heard lately. It does have songs with sharp drum beats and a mixture of melodies, but the overall feel of the album takes me to the classic rock era. The singing is timeless to me, a voice that can draw the girls in, soft at times and smoothly flowing, and very unique. ...overall for 60 Cycle Hums first album, it is a job well done.

I was immediately drawn to the timeless punch and appeal in the Southern traces. Knowing that the band is from Chattanooga furthers the point. You guys wear it on your sleeves and that’s all good, in my book. Strong and honest appeal to the lead vocal execution….a tangible honesty to the take.
